MARSH VIEWS ... Ribaut Island
is one of the premier communities on our beautiful
island. Located on a true private island across an
access bridge, it offers a community swim and tennis
center for the use of its residents, a private fishing
dock, along with oversized lots, beautiful landscaping,
and some of the finest architecture in the region.
Ribaut Island is surrounded on all sides by Port Royal
Sound, the Intracoastal Waterway and tidal marsh.
A large lot with sweeping eastern sunrise marsh views
is a perfect spot for this spacious home. This traditional,
approximately 4300 heated sq. ft. stately home sits
well back from the street. There is generous off-street
parking, along with easy access to the oversized 3-car
garage. At the entry, brick stairs and wrought iron
railing rise a half- story up to the beautiful, naturally
stained raised panel leaded and beveled glass entry
door system, flanked on either side by sidelights
and topped with a circlehead window.
Step inside and find the soaring foyer paved with
earth tone tile, which opens to the large formal dining
room. This room has a high flat ceiling with crown
molding and a large window that washes the room in
natural light. The room is defined by an accent column
and cased openings.
The foyer opens to a formal living room with a stone
raised hearth gas fireplace, traditional mantel, and
all is flanked on either side by arched bookcases
and base cabinetry. The crow molding runs throughout
this room, and there is a wall of glass to the rear
that opens to the marsh views and spacious wooden
deck.
The home is designed around the ever popular kitchen
Carolina room which has easy access from the formal
living and dining room. The kitchen has a large center
island with a Thermador downdraft range, and there
is a full complement of appliances including GE Profile
double door refrigerator with thru-the-door water
and ice, Bosche dishwasher, and GE Profile convection,
radiant and microwave ovens. There is a generous amount
of raised panel white cabinetry with roll-out features,
lazy susan, under-the-counter lighting and all topped
in a solid surface. A breakfast bay opens off the
kitchen with a built-in desk and there are wood floors
that run throughout the kitchen and connect to the
Carolina room. The Carolina room is separated from
the kitchen by a breakfast bar, and there is a vaulted
ceiling and lots of traditional doublehung windows.
Dont miss the walk-in pantry.
A hallway from the kitchen leads past a full bath
which doubles both as a guest bath and powder room.
A half flight up are 2 rooms over the 3-car garage.
One is a bonus/media room with 4 large closets and
heart pine floors. A doorway separates the bonus room
from an office/study with lots of built-in cabinetry,
bookcases and track lighting.
The guest bedrooms are privately located away from
the main living area of the house. A half flight up
is the first guest bedroom with a private en suite
bath and bay window area, ideal for a seating arrangement.
Another half flight up, you will find another guest
bedroom suite with private bath and easy walk-in access
to large volume attic space.
Adjacent to the foyer is a den/study/4th bedroom.
This privately located suite has a multiplicity of
uses with its private bath and has a wall of built-in
base cabinetry with bookcases above. There is a vaulted
ceiling, bay window, and lots of windows with transoms
above for natural light. Double doors off the main
living area open to a huge master suite. This remarkable
room has generous space for a seating area and lots
