INTRACOASTAL
WATERWAY ... The Talbird area
in Hilton Head Plantation is one of the more sought
after neighborhoods in this private residential community.
The high elevation lots enjoy spectacular sunset views
across the tidal marshes of Skull Creek out to the
Intracoastal Waterway. Beyond is the Pinckney Island
Federal Wildlife Preserve which is never to be developed.
The Intracoastal Waterway and Skull Creek joins the
the blue waters of Port Royal Sound. While the views
are spectacular, the location is even better. A bike
ride to the end of the street takes you to the full
facility Skull Creek Marina. Across the street is
the fabulous Country Club of Hilton Head with a Rees
Jones Golf Course, indoor swimming pool, fine dining,
tennis courts, and the finest health club on the island.
Memberships are available at a reasonable cost. The
bike trails nearby lead to the Spring Lake Recreation
Area, as well as the waterfront Dolphin Head Park.
Extremely talented owners, Lynn and Pat Owings, have
created an absolute masterpiece here on this waterfront
property. Starting with a smaller home, they have
completed a top-to-bottom expansion and remodel. The
owners engaged visionary, award winning architect,
Jim Ogden, to assist them with the redesign, then
personally supervised every step of the way with licensed
builder, Eric Anthony. The design won an AIA Architects
Award for the best redesign and also was a featured
home on the well regarded Architects Tour of Homes.
