Golf and Lagoon Views ... Moss
Creek is one of the premiere communities in the Hilton Head/Bluffton
area. With its newly built clubhouse and 2 championship golf
courses, everyone sites the club as being a prime reason for
enjoying the Moss Creek lifestyle. There are many other recreational
amenities, including extensive bike paths, a tennis center,
community pool, marina with boat launch ramp and kayak storage,
as well as some of the most interesting and spectacular sweeping
views of tidal marsh in the area.
The
Smith home is a traditional design, originally built by one
of the island's foremost developers as his personal residence.
It is spacious, well designed, and beautifully decorated from
top to bottom. This 4 bedroom, 3 ½ bath home has over
4,000 heated sq. ft. with many, many upgrades.
The
lot is an oversized homesite with wonderful lagoon and golf
course views and is an ideal setting for the backyard inground
pool. At the entry, there is a circular driveway with a side
entry oversized garage. The grounds have been lovingly landscaped
and maintained with lots of specimen plants and outdoor lighting.
An aggregate walk leads through the courtyard entry past a
lily pond.
Step
inside the foyer and immediately you will begin to appreciate
the traditional design of this home. Antique heart pine floors
run throughout the foyer. The foyer opens to a formal living
room with beamed ceiling, extensive moldings and a wall of
base cabinetry and bookcases that flank the wood burning fireplace.
Note the heavy hearth and mantle, the twin skylights that
wash the room in natural light, the wainscoting trim and all
of the directional recessed lighting.
To
the right of the foyer is a built-in wet bar with lots of
cherry cabinetry with raised, arched panel doors. The foyer
opens to a formal dining room with more heart pine floors,
tray ceiling and triple windows on either side of the room
that bring in natural light. At the end of the foyer is a
half-bath powder room with more cherry cabinetry and a silent
flush water closet. A doorway off the foyer leads to a covered
breezeway and access to the oversized 2-car garage.
The
home is designed around the ever popular kitchen/Carolina
room. The kitchen is a chef's delight. There is a full complement
of raised panel, cherry cabinetry, all topped in a heavy bullnosed
granite. Appliances include an Asko stainless dishwasher,
triple stainless JennAir and grill, Whirlpool Gold stainless
oven and microwave and a double door Whirlpool refrigerator
with thru-the-door water and ice. Off the kitchen is a utility
laundry room with a built-in desk and service sink.
The
kitchen opens to a Carolina room which centers on a 2 nd wood
burning fireplace. There is a raised, cantilevered old Savannah
gray brick hearth, traditional cherry mantle and built-in
bookcases. Overhead is a tray ceiling, paddle fan, and the
bay window at the end of the room provides wonderful views
to the rear of the home. Off the Carolina room is a breakfast
bay for informal dining. Double sliders from the Carolina
room open to the outside patio.
The
4-bedroom configuration is ideal. There is a long hallway
connecting the bedrooms with built-in bookcases. The master
suite is located privately at the end of the hallway and is
generous in size with a large bay and lots of plantation shutters.
The master bath has a double cultured marble vanity, deep
whirlpool tub, his and her water closets and a stall shower
with soaking rainfall showerhead. The walk-in closet is huge
with lots of built-in shelving.
There
are 3 separate guest bedrooms with one working nicely as a
second master suite. Bedroom #2 is presently used as an office
that has a walk-in closet and easy access to the Jack and
Jill bath. Bedroom #3 is also generous in size with another
walk-in closet and shares the same double vanity bath. Bedroom
#4 is oversized with a large bay that is ideal for furniture
placement. It has its own en suite bath and huge walk-in closet.
To
the rear of the home with access from the Carolina room, living
room, and master bedroom is an aggregate patio that is beautifully
landscaped and flows out to a free-form inground pool. The
view to the golf course has been left private for pool purposes,
but there are interesting partial views to the golf course
and the freshwater lagoon nearby.
Notable
features of this fine home include extensive traditional moldings,
2 wood burning fireplaces, heart pine flooring, plantation
shutters, wet bar, 2-zone HVAC system, Peachtree Ariel clad
window system, smooth sheetrock ceilings, lots of built-in
bookcases, skylights, his and her water closets in master
bath, 2 master bedroom suites, entry lily pond, granite and
stainless kitchen, extensive lighting, all Baldwin hardware/door
locks/hinges, tremendous closet space, inground pool and extraordinary
landscaping.
