| LAGOON
VIEW ... A
large full sized lot in the Big Woods section of the private
residential community of Hilton Head Plantation is ideally
situated along a sparkling, freshwater lagoon. There is 165
ft. of lagoon frontage and the nearby Whooping Crane Pond
Conservancy offers up an abundance of birdlife for your viewing
pleasure.
At
the entry, there is easy access to the large 2-car garage
and generous off-street parking. A meandering oyster shell
tabby walkway leads through the neatly manicured landscape
to a covered entrance and 6-panel entry door topped with elliptical
window and flanked by sidelights.
This
hardcoat, tabby stucco home oozes with tradition from its
original design by Historical Concepts to its construction
by this original owner. The home has been used lightly as
a 6-month residence. The passing of years has made it time
to hand this wonderful home along to its next owner.
Step
inside the formal foyer and note the random length, recently
installed hardwood floors that run throughout the foyer down
the hallway and into the kitchen, all connecting the living
elements of the home. Note that the ceilings are finished
in a smooth sheetrock and the colors are neutral. Off the
foyer is a half bath powder room with pedestal sink and custom
valves. To the left of the foyer with cased openings from
the foyer and the kitchen is a formal dining room with a bay
window, chair rail, and generous wall space for furniture
placement. The foyer opens to a formal living room with a
tray ceiling, patio doors topped with transom glass, and wonderful
views across an embedded fishpond out to the freshwater lagoon
and the eastern morning sun exposure.
The
kitchen is modern by all standards and has a generous amount
of raised panel, lightly stained custom cabinetry all topped
in a light Corian. All of the appliances have been replaced,
including the GE Profile range with solid surface top, GE
double door refrigerator with thru-the-door water and ice,
and Whirlpool dishwasher. There is a separate bar sink, and
the eat-in kitchen has a generous breakfast bay with three
windows looking into the side garden. Off the kitchen is a
vestibule that connects the garage as well as a large utility
room with pantry closet, washer, dryer, sink, and freezer.
There is easy access to the oversized 2-car garage with workshop
space.
Adjacent
to the kitchen and with a connection to the living room is
a Carolina room that centers on a gas fireplace with a wall
of tongue and groove paneling, storage closet, and built-in
entertainment system cabinetry. Patio doors lead to an all-weather
screened porch with removable panels. It is recognized that
the new owner may want to open up the kitchen to the Carolina
room by removing a wall and maybe adding a kitchen island
barstool for entertaining. The owner has extra wood from their
newly installed floors for this minor remodeling job.
The
home is set up with two master suites. Both rooms are generous
in size, each with extra room for additional furniture placement.
One bedroom has a large walk-in closet, and the other has
twin reach-in closets. The master bath is large with his and
her vanity, deep whirlpool tub and glass enclosed shower set
under a large skylight that washes the room in natural light.
Across the hall is a guest bedroom that easily accommodates
twin beds. One of the hallmarks of this home is that each
bedroom is most generous in size. There is a shared guest
bath at the end of the hall with a ceramic tub shower with
another overhead skylight, private European style water closet
and pocket door connecting to the second master suite.
Notable
features of this traditional home include doublehung insulated
glass windows, newly installed wood floors, tabby hardcoat
stucco construction, goldfish pond, screened porch, smooth
sheetrock ceilings, transom glass and skylights, and wonderful
wraparound lagoon views. There is a temperature controlled
storage room in the attic for off season clothing.
