Views ... The
Oyster Reef neighborhood is located in the heart of the private
residential community of Hilton Head Plantation. The Rees
Jones designed Oyster Reef Golf Course weaves its way through
this neighborhood, and the Lochridge home enjoys sweeping
tee-to-green views of the No. 13 Oyster Reef fairway. Here,
the elevation is high, and all of the grounds have been professionally
landscaped in an easily maintained design.
This
home is being sold by its original owner. When built, the
Lochridges chose long-time island custom homebuilder, Bill
Fishburne, to execute their design. The home has been lightly
used as a part-time residence and has enjoyed careful maintenance
with numerous replacements. It is in move-in ready condition
for its new owner.
At
the entry, a concrete drive offers generous off-street parking
and easy access to the large 2-car garage. An aggregate walk
leads to a covered entry and the 8-panel naturally stained
entry door. Pause for a moment and note the new roof and top-of-the-line
Peachtree Ariel clad window system.
Step
inside and a light tile paves the foyer and connects the common
elements of the home. A large overhead skylight washes the
foyer in natural light. The foyer opens to a great room/living
room with a high tray ceiling. Off to the left is a gas fireplace
with a flush marble hearth and traditional mantle, flanked
on either side by base cabinetry and bookcases. A wall of
fixed glass and full-length sliders bring the golf views inside
this room and offer easy access to the aggregate patio across
the back of the home. You will note the over height 9 ft.
ceilings in addition to the tray ceiling treatment. Off the
great room is a formal dining room with built-in wet bar and
butler service area. Chair rail and crown molding accent the
room, and there is easy access to the kitchen through a large
cased opening.
With
access from the great room and dining room, there is cozy
Carolina room with a tray ceiling and sliders to the outdoor
patio.
The
kitchen is bright and cheerful with a generous amount of raised
panel laminate cabinetry. All of the appliances have been
replaced over time, and there is a tile backsplash above the
stove. The kitchen opens to a bay window breakfast area, ideal
for casual dining. There is also a built-in desk.
Adjacent
to the kitchen is a utility area with deep sink and recently
replaced washer and dryer. There is also a half bath powder
room. Beyond is an ideal flex room, which the present owner
uses as an art studio, but also would make an outstanding
office, craft room or other activity area. From this room,
there is easy access to the large 2-car garage.
The
bedroom configuration is ideal. Off the foyer, the den/3 rd
bedroom enjoys easy access to the Jack and Jill shared bath
but also doubles as a TV room or study. This room, along with
the adjacent 2 nd guest bedroom, are oversized and have bay
windows that bring in natural light. Between these two bedrooms
is a shared bath with separate vanity and tub and is finished
in a light tile.
Across
the hall, the master bedroom is huge with room for twin beds
or a king sized bed. The bay window offers ideal flexibility
for furniture placement, and there are two built-in window
seats for linen storage. There is separate vanity area with
overhead skylight. Inside the bath, there is a 2 nd vanity
area, soaking tub with tile surround, and a walk-in tiled
shower. There are his and her walk-in closets with double
rod and shelving. Don't miss the cedar closet for off-season
clothing storage.
To
the rear of the home, with easy access from the great room
and Carolina room, is an aggregate patio, perfect for outdoor
entertaining and enjoying the views of the Oyster Reef Golf
Course.
Notable
features of this home include recently replaced roof, all
appliances replaced over time, replaced HVAC system, gas fireplace,
9 ft. ceiling heights, skylights, tray ceilings, Peachtree
ariel clad window system, wet bar, central station alarm system,
and office/studio/study.
